Issues and Problems/Areas of Expertise

Jean has 20 years of therapy experience having received her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Xavier University in 1997.  She has extensive experience working with adolescent girls and adult women with childhood abuse and trauma and family of origin issues such as maternal substance abuse, mental illness, neglect and domestic violence.  Jean is compassionate and dedicated to the well-being of her clients.

Her clinical background includes working with child welfare-involved families using a combination of reality therapy and  cognitive behavioral therapy to assist them with  reunification.

If you are a parent with a child who is gifted, has autism, ADHD, sensory issues or special needs, Jean will be able to guide you with her own life experience and understanding.     She also works with individuals who are experiencing caregiver stress or who are undergoing a life transition or grief and loss issues.

Jean uses the Gottman method in her approach towards couples counseling.  She can aid couples in surviving infidelity or in improving their communication styles to enhance their conflict resolution abilities and realize their dreams as a couple.
